QUICK TIP: How to Find Other Shopify Stores In Your Niche

Do you have a Shopify website and want to see other Shopify stores in your niche?

Or maybe you’re still contemplating if Shopify is a good fit for your ecommerce business, and want to see other similar stores that are already on Shopify.

If either of these two things apply to you, here’s a little trick you can do to find other stores in your niche that already have a website with Shopify.

This specialized search gives you a feel for what other shops look like, and might even give you the inspiration you need to start your own Shopify website. It’s also a cool way to see what your competition is doing. 😉

Find Other Shopify Stores In Your Niche

In the search bar of Google, type:

nichekeyword site:myshopify.com

For example, if you have a jewelry store and want to see other Shopify jewelry stores, you would type:

jewelry site:myshopify.com

If you have a vintage store, you would type:

vintage site:myshopify.com

The results you see in Google will be results of stores on Shopify that have your keyword as part of their stores. You can then take a peek at those stores to see their websites.

Pretty slick, huh?!

• You can use more than one keyword when searching for similar stores on Shopify. For example, if you want to see Shopify websites that feature handmade jewelry, you could type “handmade jewelry site:myshopify.com” and you would see something similar to these search results:
  
• Keep in mind that if you use very general one-word keywords in your search – such as jewelry, vintage, or antiques – those keywords are very popular and have a lot of competition. Therefore, if you use this search tip to find your own website, you might need to add additional keywords in order to “fine-tune” your search. For example, instead of using the keyword “vintage” you could use something like “vintage Americana” or “vintage folk art”. Using the additional words gets you closer to the types of websites you are trying to find.
• If you use this quick tip but you don’t see your shop listed, take it as a cue that you need to add those keywords you used for the search to your website!

• This unique search also works for Etsy shops. Just type:  keyword(s) site:etsy.com/shop and all shops that have that keyword(s) in their shops will appear. 🙂
