Pinterest has made it much easier for you to control the things you see in your home feed, customizing the feed more to your liking!

To Tune Your Home Feed:

1. Click the ... icon in the upper-right corner of your Pinterest page
2. Choose Tune Your Home Feed
   A screen similar to the one below will appear.
   
   

    

3. From the Topic tab, turn on or off the boards that contribute to the recommendations Pinterest shows you.
4. Click the History tab to change settings based on your history
5. Click the Topics tab to add topics you're interested in

By making these changes, you have a lot more control over a more relevant and inspiring Pinterest feed.

Did you know that Pinterest has added @replies to the platform?!?!

As explained by Pinterest:

“We think @replies on Twitter are a great way to send a short messages to your friends. We recently added a similar feature in Pinterest - just type @username in any comment field and we’ll send a message directly to another Pinterest user via email. It’s a great way to suggest a pin or get someone involved in a conversation you’re having.”

How cool is this?!

Has anyone noticed the ARCHIVE button on Pinterest now?

I think it's cool!

When you archive a board, you won't see those kinds of pins in your activity feed any more. For example, I was helping a friend with her wedding. I created a board for wedding ideas. She got married and I didn't want to keep the board any more, but people were following it, so I didn't want to delete it. I can archive it and then I don't have to see wedding dresses and wedding related items in my activity feed any more. Cool!

And.... you can also now REORDER the SECTIONS within your Pinterest boards! THAT is cool!

And... wait for it.... you can now REARRANGE pins within your boards!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!! Finally!!!!

And... you can also SORT your boards! Alphabetically, most recent, etc.

Pinterest has pulled their sales channel on Shopify today WITH NO WARNING to Shopify!!!

This means, there are NO MORE Buyable Pins! All Buyable Pins have been converted to Product Pins (which are pretty much what we have with our Etsy shop items).

People on Pinterest can still click a product pin, see the price and product description, but the additional photos are gone, the in-stock/out-of-stock notice is gone, and the Add to Bag option on Pinterest is gone.

Shopify was floored by this, and are asking Pinterest why there was no warning. Pinterest basically contacted Shopify and told them they needed to remove the Pinterest Sales Channel today. Wow.

What Does This Mean For You?

• We CAN still get orders via Pinterest, BUT it will be when customers click a pin and click through to our websites (just like with Etsy).
• The Pinterest Sales Channel will no longer work in your Shopify Dashboard.
• It is hard to tell how Product Pins will perform for us at this point. This MIGHT be a good change for us, I'm just not sure yet since it is just now being rolled out.

It sounds like Pinterest will be adding THEIR OWN Shopping Platform to Pinterest (so they can take a percent of sales), but I don't know details of that yet.

I am testing out a fairly new feature I stumbled on, on Pinterest. It's called Pinterest Communities. I'm just starting out with this, so am not sure where I will go with it yet. But if any of you would like to test this with me, I would really appreciate it!
