You may have noticed that all the posts here in this new Forum are dated November 2018.

The reason for that is - I created this Forum here about a week ago, and have been working hard at copying and pasting information that WAS in our Slack Help Group, here to the new Forum.

This Forum space has no limitations as to how many posts we create - where our Slack group is capped at 10,000 posts. In an effort to save all the important posts that were in our Slack group, I am posting them here.

My hope is to:

Make things EASIER to find here in the Forum - just use the Forum Search or browse through the various "channels" here to find the help and information you need.

To organize the help information we've accumulated over the years in ONE place - again to make it easier for everyone.

To provide a new "home" for all the shops that are either in development mode or have launched from development mode to be able to continue providing help and support, all while keeping everyone in one place - here on TheDrawingBoard3 website.

I am dedicated to helping YOU succeed with your Shopify website! I believe using this Forum space (versus our current home on Slack) will benefit everyone in the long term.

If you have questions, comments, or suggestions about this new Forum space, please click the Reply link below and share. :-)

I think this would be really neat to create a virtual tour of the areas we each live, and share that with each other. It would be sort of like visiting each other's home town.

Just something fun to play around with.....

Link - https://vr.google.com/tourcreator/

13

(originally shared on 5/9/18)

GOOGLE LENS

Have you tried Google Lens yet?
It's pretty cool!

ink - https://support.google.com/photos/answer/7539151?hl=en

While it's fun to use for random things (see below), there are some clever ways to use it for business, too.

Business Cards to Contacts - Take a photo of a business card, open the photo in Google Photos and tap the Lens tool. Google converts the data on the business card into a contact on your phone.

Events to Calendar - Take a photo of an event poster, open the photo in Google Photos and tap the Lens tool. Google adds the event to your calendar on your phone.

Book Information - Take a photo of a book cover, and Google gives you information about the book, where you can buy it, and even includes book reviews. This works with movies, too.

And for something more for fun...

Identify Plants or Animals - Take a photo of a plant or animal you want to identify, and Google Lens presents you with information about that plant or animal. I took a photo of one of our cats and Google told me the kind of cat it is. LOL

Identify Landmarks - Using Google Lens, you can even learn more about popular landmarks.

Google Lens is only available to iOS users right now, but I imagine they will roll out to Android users eventually.

This is an early version of Google Lens. Can you image how cool this tool would be for vintage sellers if you could take a photo of an unknown object and Google could tell you what it is?!?!? Now THAT would be awesome!

(originally shared 3/27/18)
